About the work

Dame Justice is considered the symbol of justice. Her blindfold represents justice without regard to person, her scales for weighing facts and circumstances, her sword for judgment. This is a recognizable image that fits well with the judiciary.

But even though Dame Justice has her blindfold on, the balance is not always well made. Therefore, in the painting, the weight in the lower scale is one pound and in the upper scale one kilogram.

Who brings this scale back into balance?
